Depending on your perspective those four words express complaint or disappointment. Am I done already? Have you ever heard your children (or even you yourself) say that when cleaning the house, mowing the lawn, or other really UNfun jobs. When can this be over? Is the clock broken?! It’s as if we’re measuring time in dog years. Sheesh.
Am I done already? This is completely different. Coffee with friends, birthday parties, or vacations generally end with: am I done already? We’ve barely blinked and it’s time to say goodbye. As the saying goes, ‘Time flies when you’re having fun’.
It’s tragic when I hear someone talk about being physically active and he or she can’t wait to be done. If you find yourself saying that then your workout is way too much work! Find something fun. Ride a bike. Go for a walk. Playing with your grandchildren, or plain just keeping up with them, is a fantastic way to stay fit.
Any type of movement is better than sitting on the couch. So get out there and have some fun. Time will pass quickly. Then you will say, am I done already?
